The Newbury of Brookline Celebrates a Year of Achievement and Looks Ahead with Momentum

Community earns five national and regional architecture and design awards, achieves LEED Gold certification, and introduces innovative member programming in 2025

BROOKLINE, MA 2025 was a landmark year for The Newbury of Brookline, a Kisco Signature community. The community celebrated major milestones, including national recognition and new member programming, while engaging meaningfully with staff, members and families. These accomplishments set the stage for continued growth and innovation in 2026.

Throughout its first year, The Newbury of Brookline, located on a thoughtfully reimagined historic campus, earned multiple prestigious awards and hosted influential voices in aging and culture, underscoring its commitment to excellence in design, programming, and member experience.

In 2025, The Newbury of Brookline received several notable industry honors recognizing its architectural vision and adaptive reuse, including being named a Winner in the Independent Living Category of the Senior Housing News Architecture & Design Awards. The community was also recognized by NAIOP Massachusetts, Engineering News-Record East, McKim, Mead & White, and the Society of American Registered Architects (SARA) for its innovative transformation of a former college campus into a vibrant senior living community. Additionally, The Newbury of Brookline proudly holds LEED Gold Certification, reflecting its commitment to sustainability and responsible design.

Beyond awards, the community continued to enrich members' lives through impactful programming and events. Highlights included a visit from nationally renowned dementia care expert Teepa Snow, as well as hosting respected journalist Martha Raddatz, bringing thought-provoking conversation and connection directly to members.
